I will be bold in Christ, will you?

I know it’s been six months since I have done anything on this blog and there is no excuse other than I'm not a big writer or computer guy. But with the election coming up and all these things being tossed around in the media, well, some of the things have just chapped my hide if you will. I here all kinds of folks out there in the media and elsewhere talking about the separation of church and state and I’m a little tired of it. In my opinion there could be no state WITHOUT the church. Have we forgotten this great country was built by people escaping religious persecution in England? Have we forgotten the following words in the Deceleration of Independence...."When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

Or what about one of the greatest Presidents this nation has ever had, Abraham Lincoln, no surprise to me that a man with such a biblical name would have said this....."And whereas when our own beloved Country, once, by blessing of God, united, prosperous, and happy, is now afflicted with factions and civil war, it is peculiarly fit for us to recognize the hand of God in this terrible visitation, and in sorrowful remembrance of our own faults and crimes as a nation and as individuals, to humble ourselves before Him, and to pray for His mercy, — to pray that we may be spared further punishment, though most justly deserved; that our arms may be blessed and made effectual for the re-establishment of law, order, and peace, through the wide extent of our country; and that the inestimable." Read this quote from President Lincoln..."I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go."

Does that sound like a separation from church and state? I know what some people who may be reading this are saying....they're saying that they just do not want Christian values inserted into the government or determine how the government is ran. Don't get me wrong I do understand the reason behind the separation of church and state. It was to keep the government from telling the church how to worship! Now you have people wanting to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance. Why is it that we seem to be catering to the minority? Why is it that the Majority stands by idly when this happens? I don't have the answer to that but I will say this, as a Christian...as a Christian Law Enforcement Officer, I feel it is not only my duty to protect and serve the public but to also spread the gospel to who ever I am able to. Now being as how I work for the state, if someone complains about me sharing the gospel I could be fired or punished some other way. Remember what the Bible says in Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. If I am persecuted for my spiritual and religious beliefs than so be it. I have had enough of the minority having the louder voice! I choose to speak loud and proud I AM A CHRISTIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. I will say God, I will pray, I will pray in my office, I will pray in my car, I will read my Bible in the office I will not hide the fact that I am a Christian. If my gospel tracks on my office wall offend you, then brother, I need to talk to you about Jesus. If my Bible on my desk offends you, then brother, let’s read a few chapters! If my new hat that read C.O.P.S. Christians Obediently Preaching Salvation offends you then open your ears because I have some great news about Jesus Christ to tell you!

Ok I know it may be I’m rambling on here but something has gotten inside me this morning and I just had to let it out. I know everyone out there does not agree with me and that’s fine that’s why we have free speech (another topic for later).

So, all you Christians out there and especially all my Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters out there remember these words…….Acts 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word…..Acts 6:19-20 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Finally when the day the Lord returns remember Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
